The problem isn’t the breeders. The problem is that there are thousands of dogs and cats in shelters who are euthanized simply because no one chose to adopt them. It doesn’t make sense to be breeding more dogs when there are countless dogs available who need homes.

I’ve never heard anyone say that purebreds are loved less than mixed breeds. Ever.

Plus, mixed breeds tend to be healthier and lead to “dangerous” genes becoming recessive. Mixed breeds tend to live longer and have less health problems, so I don’t understand why we need to “save” purebreds.
